One nervous mama! |
As nervous as I was, this actually ended up being a great experience. |
CPRMC is now keeping babies with mamas, the whole time, and making it possible to do a little skin-to-skin time in the OR, while Mom is being closed up. It was beautiful.
Gray also stayed with me in the recovery room while I was monitored for 2 hours after delivery. He had his first bath and nursing there. He ate like a champ!
First bath |
Gray had plenty of family eager to meet him. |
I'm pretty sure this guy might have been the most excited. |
Look out world! There are now two T.G. Barclays at large. |
He was not a fan of the whole going home process. |
Things I want to remember:
- Gray is the biggest snuggle baby. I love it when he works himself until he can press his face into my neck.
- How much better this delivery experience was and feeling connected to him right away.
- How amazing of a big brother Noah is. He told Mamaw, "I just love him so much!" He tells us daily how much he loves Gray and, so far, has not shown any jealousy and has been very understanding that things are different now that we have a baby to take care of. I also want to remember how Noah walked into my hospital room while the audiologist was holding Gray for his hearing test and, a bit defiantly, told her, "That's my baby!"
- Special thanks and much gratitude for all the prayers! They were felt!
- God was faithful.
For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people, training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age, waiting for our blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us to redeem us from all lawlessness and to purify for himself a people for his own possession who are zealous for good works.
Titus 2:11-14
