I guess it's true what they say about second children. They just don't quite get the same attention that you gave to the first one. ;) Regrettably, I have not documented this pregnancy in nearly the detail that I did my first.
So I am pausing to play catch up and at least hit the highlights!
What has been different this time around? Well, the nausea began at about five-and-a-half weeks and eased up at about 18 weeks, which is pretty consistent with the first pregnancy. But, I think the nausea was less severe and more manageable this time around. Praise the Lord! I have had a voracious appetite, that I don't really recall being so noticeable before. And I've generally felt more tired and lacked energy this time, which may have something to do with the energetic little boy that keeps me busy!
We were told 3 times that this would be a boy by the time we reached the official gender check. This was a little hard to swallow at first, since I don't plan on going for a 3rd child. I had to let go of the idea of having a girl, but am now feeling excited about another boy, maybe even a little relieved at a lot of the dramatics I will miss out on, and trusting in God's design. We have had multiple ultrasounds but the scans didn't turn out very well.
Here is the little bean at the first OB appointment.

This boy has a fondness for having his hands in his face, as you may notice. |
A fist next to his face. |
Sticking his tongue out and making a great "yuck" face. |
